About Euclid Hospital

Looking for a map or driving directions?

Located on 17 picturesque acres along the Lake Erie shoreline, Euclid Hospital is home to one of the region's leading rehabilitation and orthopedic centers. The hospital, with 371-licensed beds, offers a complete continuum of care from emergency services to surgery, to acute and subacute care, to rehabilitation, to outpatient care. Euclid was originally founded in 1907 as Glenville Hospital, and was constructed at its existing location in 1952.

The hospital has a strong history of caring for the community, a tradition which continues today. Euclid Hospital has teamed up with The Cleveland Clinic Foundation and other area hospitals to form the Cleveland Clinic Health System. The Cleveland Clinic Health System offers broad geographic coverage, a full continuum of care, improved quality and lower cost of care to Northeast Ohio residents.

It includes the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and its Family Health Centers, and all facilities operated by:

  • Euclid
  • Fairview
  • Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation. (formerly Health Hill Hospital)
  • Hillcrest
  • Huron
  • Lakewood
  • Lutheran
  • Marymount
  • South Pointe Hospitals
  • Ashtabula County Medical Center (Affiliate)

The Cleveland Clinic Health System provides a full range of health services within a wide geographic area, offering patients the very best care conveniently located near where they live. Providing outstanding rehabilitation care.  Within Euclid's fully accredited acute rehabilitation center, patients recovering from disabling injuries or illnesses receive intensive, individualized care. In addition to 24-hour nursing, patients receive physical, occupational, speech, art and music therapy.

To help transition patients from the rehab center to the home environment, the hospital offers an independent living suite. For patients whose needs do not require inpatient care, Euclid maintains a comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation facility.

Caring innovatively.

The neuro day program at Euclid is one of only a few across the U.S. and the only one of its kind in Greater Cleveland. It is designed for patients with neurological impairments such as stroke, who no longer require inpatient care but still need intensive outpatient rehabilitation therapy and nursing care. In addition, our Back & Neck Care Center helps provide relief and comfort to people suffering from back and neck problems.

Pain management services,  offered in conjunction with the Cleveland Clinic, provide yet another component of our comprehensive continuum of care. When chronic pain, or pain caused by accidents or injury interferes with the quality of your life, you may wish to consider the services of the Cleveland Clinic Pain Management Center at Euclid Hospital.

Handling emergency calls.

Euclid's emergency department provides medical control for emergency service for the City of Euclid. When combined with calls from other surrounding communities, requests for help add up to more than 25,000 each year. Offering world-class orthopedic care.  In 1999, Cleveland Clinic orthopedic surgeons were invited to join the staff at Euclid. The new outpatient orthopedic satellite includes radiology services, and two additional surgical suites especially equipped for orthopedic surgery. When appropriate, patients are able to move comfortably into the adjoining rehabilitation facilities. Independent orthopedic surgeons remain on staff at Euclid Hospital, continuing a 50-year tradition of providing quality orthopedic care.

Offering services by women, for women.

A Women's Resource Center, staffed by female health professionals, offers services geared to the unique physical and emotional needs of women.

Improving heart patients' lives.

Euclid established the first cardiac rehabilitation department in the area, and was one of the first hospitals in Greater Cleveland to create a Congestive Heart Failure Center. The center provides education and treatment for hospital patients and outpatients.

Catering to seniors.

Persons 55 and older may take advantage of Senior Circle of Care programs. Euclid Hospital traditionally provides low-cost dinners, free movies, exercise classes and lectures on topics of interest to senior citizens. Euclid Hospital is also home to the outpatient older adult assessment program. The goal of this program is to help the elderly members of our community and their families learn to cope with and adjust to the physical and mental changes that often accompany the aging process. Helping through behavioral health.  A specially trained clinical staff offers comprehensive services to meet the needs of older adults. The department of behavioral health provides inpatient services for seniors as well as outpatient services for seniors, adults, adolescents and families.

Providing support for patients with diabetes.

In 1998, Euclid's diabetes education department introduced a monthly diabetes support group lecture series. The hospital offers a comprehensive array of both inpatient and outpatient diabetes education programs and support groups.

Questions or Concerns?

You and your family should feel you can always voice your concerns. If you share a concern or complaint, your care will not be affected in any way. The first step is to discuss your concerns with your doctor, nurse, or other caregiver. If you have concerns that are not resolved, please contact the Ombudsman office at 216/692-7888.

Should you continue to remain concerned after contacting the Ombudsman office, you may contact the Joint Commission’s Office of Quality Monitoring by either calling 1/800-994-6610 or e-mailing complaint@jcaho.org.

Quality is the most important differentiating factor when a physician or patient chooses a hospital for care. An outcomes book was created so that patients, referring physicians and organizations could view our hospital outcomes. Click here to see more.
