Fred DeGrandis Receives 2007 Phillips Medal of Public Service

ATHENS, Ohio — Recently, Fred DeGrandis, J.D., president and CEO of Cleveland Clinic Regional Hospitals, received Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine’s (OU-COM) Phillips Medal of Public Service at the college’s 32nd Convocation Ceremony. DeGrandis was honored for his outstanding leadership and administrative career, community service and support of education, both medical and general. He was one of three receiving the medal, which is presented annually by the medical college.


	Cleveland Clinic Study Shows Commonly Used Diabetes Drug Increases Risk of Heart Attack and Death An important article has been published electronically (www.nejm.org) by the New England Journal of Medicine suggesting that a drug commonly used to treat patients with type II diabetes mellitus might be associated with a risk of heart problems.

	Robert P. Stall Named as President of Euclid Hospital Robert P. Stall has been named the President of Euclid Hospital, effective June 15. In his new role, Mr. Stall, who has been with Cleveland Clinic for nearly 24 years, will oversee the staff and operations of Euclid Hospital.
